Michael and Henrietta Spink Ltd offers the opportunity to create the 'earthly paradise'
of Mughal or Islamic buildings and gardens in a contemporary environment
using marble and sandstone which has been handcarved to the highest
standards. Using the same materials found in classical Indian and
Islamic buildings, we are able to create designs suitable for any
space, both internal and external. Marble fountains, planters and
water features such as waterchutes, combine with tables and other
furnishings richly inlaid with lapis lazuli, carnelian, malachite
and other hardstones. Carved sandstone 'jali' screens allow patterns
of light and cooling breezes to refresh the hottest day; their delicate
tracery can create space and light in any room.

and Islamic art and design. They work with highly skilled artisans
and professionals to ensure that every project is completed to the
best possible standard. Each design comes with scale drawings and
a full specification, and we can offer an installation service for
architectural and garden fittings.
We
can supply single items such as fountains or jali screens, or we
can create full scale interiors for modern buildings using motifs
drawn from historic buildings ensuring a unity of pattern in the
design concept (such as a room using exclusively Shah Jahan period
motifs). We can also design Islamic gardens and fit them out to
echo the coolness of an enclosed Moorish courtyard or the grandeur
of the Mughal gardens of Kashmir.
